Woman charged in Waipahu fire

A 36-year-old woman has been charged in a Waipahu fire in February that caused more than $100,000 in damage and killed a dog.

Dacy M. Chevalier, 36, was charged with first-degree criminal property damage, with bail set at $25,000. Police said she is suspected of setting fire to her home Feb. 21 at 94-333 Pupu'ol« St., Unit No. 402. They said she stood on the balcony just a few feet from the fire before fleeing into a nearby park, where officers found her hiding under a blanket.


Intruder attacks Pearl City woman

Police yesterday were searching for a man who attacked a 56-year-old woman and sexually assaulted her in her Pearl City residence Tuesday morning.

Police said an intruder surprised the woman and threatened her at knifepoint sometime around 2 or 3 a.m. He tied her up, stole cash from her room and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
