Training options available
Randy Moore joins a growing number of people switching careers and going into teaching.
The trend has become so strong that 40 states, including Hawai'i, now have some alternative to going back to college and majoring in education to become a teacher, according to the National Center for Education Information of Washington, D.C.
Besides Chaminade University's program, which Moore attended, Brigham Young University-Hawai'i offers a program, and the University of Hawai'i offers two that prepare professionals to become teachers: the masters of education in teaching and the post-baccalaureate secondary education.
For information on the masters program at UH, call 956-3996. For the post-baccalaureate program, call 956-4275.
