SHOW BREEZES: There's a move afoot to lure Prince (formerly known as the artist formerly known as Prince; he had once reduced his name to a symbol, but has become Prince again) to Hawai'i for a concert. No date nor place, yet ...

And while Janet Jackson is going out on her "All for You" tour, starting July 5 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and winding up Oct. 13 in Denver, no one's mentioned (so far) a return engagement here, either ...

PEARL JAM: Various press types are here for the mammoth "Pearl Harbor" to-do leading up to the Monday premiere aboard the USS Stennis. Bob Goen, the "Entertainment Tonight" co-anchor, will host the show from the carrier, following the premiere, and Jann Carol, a reporter, already has been taping footage in and around O'ahu with producer Bonnie Tiegel ...

The Island contingent of the Hawaii Stunt Association — the likes of Achilles Gacis, Robert Moody and Dale Radomski — are eager to see "Pearl Harbor" (who isn't?), and Gacis was thrilled to see his photo (page 70) among hundreds chosen for inclusion in the "official" commemorative book, "Pearl Harbor: The Movie and the Moment" ...

NAMES 'N' PLACES: Michael Bright, formerly of the "Miss Saigon" touring and Broadway company, has joined the cast of the "Aloha Waikiki" show at the DFS Galleria; he's an alternate emcee for the free show, staged from 7 to 7:30 p.m. daily ...

Isaac Calpito, who did a number of stage shows here, is graduating June 3 from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York. He starts rehearsals shortly for an Equity production of "West Side Story."

Francis Ruivivar, still battling leukemia in a Las Vegas hospital, must've been feeling well enough to laugh when nephew Anthony Ruivivar, who plays the paramedic Carlos on NBC-TV's "Third Watch," tried to administer oxygen — and fumbled. Guess life does not always imitate art — but provided the ailing Ruivivar a light-hearted moment ...

Is it catching, or what? Robert Cazimero and Tony Conjugacion have periodically gone the blond route. And most recently, kumu hula Sonny Ching also has been sporting a platinum look ...

Lauren Madden, Miss Hawai'i Teen USA, is due back from Colorado (after attending college), to crown her successor on May 27 at the Sheraton Waikiki's Hawai'i Ballroom. Among the contestants: Alana Paulo-Tamashiro, daughter of singer Charlene Paulo (and granddaughter of Rene and Akemi Paulo); Dawn Malia Chapman, daughter of MidWeek's Don Chapman; and Brandy Leaver, who just completed a music video for Coolio and Snoop Dogg ...

Clint Eastwood, David Wolper, Peter Marshall, Dweezil Zappa and Grant Tinker have been golfing on Lana'i and taking part in the Manele Bay's Lana'i Visiting Artist Program ...
