HAWAI'I MOTOR SPEEDWAY

  • What: Mother-in-law races
  • Site: Hawai'i Motor Speedway.
  • Schedule: Gates open 5 p.m. on Saturday with racing at 7 p.m.
  • Track: ´-mile, ultra-wide (85 feet wide), dirt track oval.
  • Tickets: Adults $7, seniors 55 and older and juniors 11-17 $5, children 6-10 $3 and children 5-younger free.
  • Information: Dirt-track hotline at 682-8226.
  • Fast facts: Racing will feature winged sprint cars, mini stocks, super stocks, midgets, modifieds and cruzer bruzers.
  • Last week: The winners were Albert Ternora Jr. (winged sprint cars), Albert Ternora Sr. (modifieds), Michael Paahana (mini modifieds), Stacy Hanson (super street stock), Brandon Ternora (mini stock) and Chad Moniz (cruzer-bruzers).

  • Track: Lowe's Motor Speedway (quad-oval shaped, 1.5miles, 24 degrees banking in turns).
  • Race distance: 105 miles.
  • Fast fact:The Winston does not count in the series standings. ... This is the 17th annual race. ... Those eligible for the race are: winners from last year, this year, past Winston Cup champions, any driver who has won The Winston in the last five years and the Winston Open winner.
