Wie, 11, has 8-shot lead after 36 holes

Michelle Wie's first Jennie K. Wilson Invitational could be one for the ages.

The Punahou Schools 11-year-old takes an eight-shot lead into the final round after shooting 1-over-par 73 yesterday at Mid-Pacific Country Club.

Wie is at even-par 144 after two rounds. Former University of Hawai'i golfer Desiree Ting (74-152) is second. Moanalua High School's Ayumi Hori (81-153) fell into third when she hit her second shot out of bounds on the 17th, leading to double bogey.

Defending champion Bobbi Kokx (76-155) is another two shots back. Kaua'i High senior Rachel Kyono, who won the girls high school championship last weekend, shot 73 after an opening-round 84 for 157.
