Ten members of the Machinist's Union at United Airlines handed out leaflets to passengers at Honolulu Airport today as part of a nationwide informational picketing, said Alexis Sumida, the Hawai'i vice president for Machinists Union District Lodge 141.
"The one-day event was planned to warn United management against forcing unnecessary confrontations with employees this summer," the union said in a statement.
The union is negotiating for better pay, more job security and better pensions, Sumida said.
