Stage Scene
Add some magic to your life this weekend

Advertiser Staff

Maybe you're just not ready for the high-tech screen magic of today's blockbuster film "Pearl Harbor." But a little magic in your weekend isn't such a bad idea, either.

Award-winning magician Julianna Chen will be one of the performers at this weekend's "It's Magic" show playing at the Hawai'i Theatre.
Abracadabra! "It's Magic," at the Hawai'i Theatre, is a family-friendly show of magicians and illusionists that should fit the bill. The program is headliner Shimada, Japan's No. 1 magic star.

Others include Ed Alonzo, co-star of the now-defunct TV series "Saved by the Bell" who has had his own HBO magic special; Paris headliner Rudy Coby, who has been on two Fox specials; Julianna Chen, an award-winning magician in a male-dominated field; Dana Daniels and his partner, Luigi the Psychic Parrot; and Christopher Hart, whose hand played "Thing" in the feature film "The Addams Family."

The shows begin at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets, at the box office, are $20-$27.50; $10 for those 17 and under tonight, which has been designated "Family Night."

Other discounts are available, including senior and student "rush tickets" — 50 percent off on the day of performance. 528-0506.
