Outdoor guides, maps can help you plan your summer activities

Looking for healthy outdoor activities for yourself and your children this summer?

The Healthy Hawai'i Initiative, a health promotion campaign supported by the state Department of Health, has financed a huge array of outdoor guides and maps with information for hikes, water activities, walking and biking routes, and myriad other outdoor activities for O'ahu and the Big Island.

The Initiative also has paid for a number of health-oriented Web sites that offer tips on exercise and nutrition, as well as more outdoor activities.

Unfortunately, there's no central distribution point for the maps and brochures. So, this list includes contacts:

Brochures for O'ahu and general resources
