Marijuana plants seized on Big Island

HILO, Hawai'i Big Island police announced yesterday that they seized 7,136 marijuana plants in a five-day series of raids conducted last Monday through Friday.
Lt. Henry Tavares said the Hawai'i County vice squad was backed by the Statewide Marijuana Eradication Task Force.
The raiders hit 13 different communities in six districts while ripping up plants ranging from seedlings to six feet.
No arrests were made and no booby traps were found, Tavares said.
