Reader survey: 'Pearl Harbor' gets medal
Advertiser Staff
The movie "Pearl Harbor" overcame initial bad ratings and eventually triumphed in our five-day informal reader survey here online.
The survey available for readers since the film opened in theaters Friday asked, "Tell us what you think of the Hawai'i-filmed 'Pearl Harbor.'"
Readers could choose between the following four ratings.
- Give it a medal
- Torpedo it
- OK, but not admiral-caliber
- No opinion
Initially, a majority of the voters rejected the film and called for a torpedo, but after the weekend more and more voters wanted to hand out medals. Eventually, the medals outnumbered the torpedoes 635 to 428. The number of votes was 1,346.
