Boyfriend arrested in murder attempt

Police arrested a 29-year-old man after he allegedly tried to suffocate his girlfriend with plastic bags Tuesday in Waikele because he felt she was leaving him.

The woman broke free after a struggle. She went to the Waikele KMart and had someone call police. The man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.


Two men charged in vandalism rampage

Police have charged two men in connection with a Wai'anae rampage that damaged seven cars on Monday.

Savaliga Solo, 19, and General Anderson, 18, each was charged with first-degree criminal property damage and unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle. Police made the arrests as the men were taking items from a car.


Two arrested in Makakilo robbery

Police have arrested two men and a boy in a Tuesday Makakilo home invasion.

The intruders kicked in the door, forced a woman to open her safe, tied her up and stole her car. Police spotted the car on Hakimo Road and arrested the driver. Police then found two people with the woman's property in a vacant townhouse.
