"Domestic Disturbance": A divorced father (John Travolta) learns that the new stepfather (Vince Vaughn) of his 11-year-old son is not the man he claims to be. He sets out to try to save his son from what becomes a life-and-death situation. "Life as a House": When a man (Kevin Kline) learns he is dying, he sets out to fulfill his dream of building his own house. For help he turns to his estranged son (Hayden Christensen) and his ex-wife (Kristin Scott Thomas) in an attempt to salvage relationships with them before it's too late. Opens tomorrow at Ward Stadium 16-Plex. (R).

"Monstors, Inc.": Another animated flick from Pixar (Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life), this comedy-adventure tells the story of a large, furry, spotted, and horned James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) and his best friend and roommate, a green, opinionated, feisty little one-eyed monster (Billy Crystal), who audition for spots under children's beds. They then must capture the children's screams, that provide the energy on which the monsters live. When the two accidentally transport a little girl (Mary Gibbs) back to their realm — an absolute no-no — they are exiled from their land by the factory's mean crablike CEO (James Coburn) and are forced to live in the human world. "My First Mister": Jennifer (Leelee Sobieski) has just finished high school and is thriving at her new job at an expensive boutique. She becomes close friends with her much older boss Randall (Albert Brooks), but that friendship soon turns into infatuation on her part. Randall, however, has a secret that sends Jennifer on a journey to the Southwest, but it is only through this that she learns about genuine friendship and love. Opens tomorrow at Koko Marina 8-Plex. "The One": As a man (Li) travels through parallel universes he kills the other universe's equivalent of himself. These bizarre self-destructive/self-consuming acts make the man stronger. Now he is en route to our universe to kill the version of himself (also Li) that's here. Of course, the guy in our universe has no idea he's coming ... to kick his own ass.
