Fathers and mothers alike have an opportunity to develop more nurturing attitudes and skills at the Nurturing Father's Program, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 13 and Nov. 14 at Pearl Country Club.

The two-day workshop will cover hands-on strategies for public and private service providers, as well as for everyday dads and moms, said event coordinator Bobbie Taitt. The program is open to anyone who works with and cares about families, she said. Mark Pearlman, a nationally recognized trainer and consultant for the Nurturing Programs for Parents and Children, and a founding member of the Fathers United Network of Sarasota, Fla., will be a guest speaker.

Event sponsors include the Institute for Family Enrichment, Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation, Hawai'i Coalition for Dads, state Department of Human Services, state Department of Health, and Parents and Children Together. The cost is $75 each day, which includes breakfast, lunch and materials. For more information or to register, call 596-8433.
