Children can follow the adventures of young Androcles, a slave in Rome who had a heart of gold, in the comical play, "Androcles and the Lion," 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Nov. 16, and 2 p.m. Nov. 11 and 18 at the Ke'elikolani Theatre at Kamehameha Schools.

The one-hour play, presented by the Kamehameha Schools Drama Club, Keaka Kamehameha, is an adaptation of a classic Italian children's story. "All (Androcles) wants is to help everybody," said the play's director, Patrick Fujioka, "and ultimately he wants to be free." Androcles is portrayed by Charity Kaina.

The play is recommended for students from kindergarten through fourth grade. Tickets are $5 at the door. For more information, call 842-8356 or 842-8496.
