UH fund-raising chief resigns

Advertiser Staff

The president of the University of Hawai'i Foundation, the fund-raising arm of the university, has resigned.

Pat McFadden said he submitted his resignation last week. He held the post for 2 1/2 years.

The foundation in June completed a four-year program that raised $116 million, the most ever.

McFadden said one of his goals was to complete the campaign and another was to develop a stronger management structure at the foundation. He said he believes he's accomplished both goals and it's time for new challenges.

Rick Frisch, named to succeed McFadden on an interim basis, was brought in by McFadden to head the foundation's development arm.

A search committee has been appointed to find a permanent replacement.
