Achievers

Mandy M. Pascual, a recent graduate of Punahou School, received three scholarships from the University of Maryland: a President's Scholarship for $3,500 a year for four years, an Engineering Merit Award of $1,000 a year for four years and a NCAA gymnastics scholarship worth about $15,000.

The Junior Optimist Club of Kaimuki Middle School presented these students with these awards: Tiffany Yoon, Optimist of the Year; Alex Hayashi, Carlee Kondo, Robert Rose, Chad Lau and Denise Shigeta, Clifton Bailey Honor Awards. The students received trophies.

McKinley High School Foundation honored several graduates at a tribute dinner held earlier this month. They are: Gladys Brandt, 1925 graduate; Richard Kosaki and Fujio Matsuda, 1942 graduates.
