Calling all swingers

A swing dance competition will be held at 8 p.m. today at Kapono's at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Winners will perform at 6:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday outside the Blaisdell Concert Hall, in conjunction with the weekend Honolulu Symphony pops concert featuring Rosemary Clooney, at 7:30 p.m. both days. The competition will feature music by Big Kahuna and the Copa Cat Pack band, led by symphony pops conductor Matt Catingub. There is no fee to enter the swing dance concert. Tickets to the concert are $15 to $55, on sale at the symphony box office at Dole Cannery. Reservations: 792-2000.
