Storyteller to appear at libraries

In celebration of Children's Book Week, award-winning storyteller Diane Ferlatte will appear at libraries throughout Hawai'i.

The theme of Book Week is "Get Carried Away... READ." Ferlatte, from Oakland, Calif., will give free performances of "Have I Got a Story to Tell" at the following libraries:

• 'Aina Haina, 10:30 a.m. today

• Waipahu, 3 p.m. today

• Liliha, 6:30 p.m. today

• Kailua-Kona, 9:30 a.m. Saturday

• Mililani, 2 p.m. Sunday

• Kaimuki, 4 p.m. Monday

Other library events for Children's Book Week include:

• "Eureka — Stories of Inspiration and Trickery" with Ben Moffat 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Manoa;

• American Indian storyteller and author Linda Uguku Boyden 3 p.m. today at Makawao;

• Magician Akim Harris today at Kea'au, Mt. View and Pahoa;

• Hawaiian String Figures with Lois and Earl Stokes today at Princeville and Nov. 19 at Waimea.
