Dance Dance

Gregory Yamamoto • The Honolulu Advertiser
It's not just a weekend of dance at the Kennedy Theatre mainstage; it's also video, animation, painting and music, creating the multimedia event that is the "Annual Dance Concert: Bigger Than Life!"

The concert features new pieces created by University of Hawai'i-Manoa's Department of Theatre and Dance faculty members Gregg Lizenbery, Betsy Fisher, Vicky Holt Takamine and Peggy Gaither Adams (these are scenes from her "On the Fly" piece) and performed by UH dance students. Guest choreographer Ellen Bromberg from the University of Utah also offers a new multimedia piece.

Concerts are at 8 p.m. today and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa. Tickets are $12 general, $9 seniors, military, faculty and staff, $7 non-UH students and children, $4 UHM students with valid ID; available at the box office and Ticket Plus outlets. 526-4400 (Ticket Plus), 956-7655 (box office).

Future UH concerts include "Winter Footholds" Feb. 20-24 and "Spring Footholds" April 3-7.
