Inoke Funaki passed for 307 yards and four touchdowns as top-ranked Kahuku posted a 57-14 opening-round win over Lahainaluna in the Chevron State Football Championships last night at Aloha Stadium.

The Red Raiders, champions of the O'ahu Interscholastic Association, advanced to next Friday's semifinals at Aloha Stadium along with Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion St. Louis, Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation champion Waimea, and Kailua of the OIA.

St. Louis defeated 'Aiea 54-7, while Kailua beat Waiakea 53-8, and Waimea beat Castle 41-20.

Three of Funaki's scoring passes were caught by James Kammerer, tying a state playoffs record for most touchdown receptions in a game.

Semifinal matchups will have Kahuku playing Waimea, and St. Louis meeting Kailua.

The state championship game will be played 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30, at Aloha Stadium.
