Car crashes into martial arts class

A car crashed into a martial arts academy in 'Aina Haina today, startling students and bystanders, but injuring no one.

A green Subaru hopped the curb, drove through a glass window and slammed into the front desk at the U.S. Taekwondo Center Inc. at the 'Aina Haina Shopping Center at about 3:20 p.m., according to witnesses.

The car was occupied by an elderly couple. The driver said he tried to reverse out of a handicapped stall near Chuck E Cheese's Pizza, but instead drove the car forward into the academy.

The crash happened just 10 minutes before the start of classes. Police responded to the scene and martial arts classes went on as scheduled.
