Advertiser Staff
Honolulu police yesterday arrested two men in connection with a beating death and an assault following an argument at a cockfight Friday night in Kalihi.
The two men face second-degree murder charges and were held at the main police cellblock last night.
Homicide Lt. Bill Kato had said that the violence broke out after the cockfight at 686 Bannister St. Witnesses said the argument started behind the house but moved toward Bannister Street as the cockfight crowd left.
Two men were beaten by a group of at least a half-dozen men, police said.
One victim, a 39-year-old man, died Saturday at The Queen's Medical Center. The other man, 41, was in guarded condition.
