Senior running back rushed for 167 yards on 12 carries and caught one pass for 14 yards to help the Menehune defeat Castle 41-20 in the state quarterfinals.

Senior setter/outside hitter had 14 kills, six digs, three aces and two blocks to help the Raiders defeat Punahou 5-15, 15-12, 15-11 for their first state championship.

Senior receiver caught five passes for 136 yards and tied a state tournament record with three touchdown receptions in the Red Raiders' 57-14 quarterfinal victory over Lahainaluna.

Punahou volleyball

Senior outside hitter had 13 kills and five blocks in a championship match loss to Iolani, after making 11 digs in the semifinals to help the Buffanblu defeat Hilo 15-6, 15-6.

Senior slotback caught eight passes for 136 yards and one touchdown in the Knights' quarterfinal loss to Waimea.

Kailua football

Senior quarterback completed 8 of 13 passes for 125 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries to help the Surfriders to a 53-8 victory over Waiakea in the state quarterfinals.

Junior receiver caught three passes — all of them for touchdowns — for 109 yards in the first half of the Crusaders' 54-7 victory over 'Aiea.

• B.J. BATTS, St. Louis football — Sophomore running back rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries in the Crusaders' state quarterfinal victory over 'Aiea.

• LA'AKEA CAMPBELL, Iolani volleyball — Senior outside hitter had nine kills and 14 digs in the Raiders' championship victory over Punahou and 15 kills to help Iolani defeat St. Joseph 16-14, 15-8 in the semifinals.

• INOKE FUNAKI, Kahuku football — Senior quarterback completed 11 of 15 passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns in the Red Raiders' state quarterfinal victory over Lahainaluna.

• NATHAN LEAVER, Kailua football — Junior running back rushed for 179 yards and three touchdowns, including an 86-yard TD run, on nine carries in the Surfriders' victory over Waiakea.

• ANELI OTINERU, Punahou volleyball — Freshman outside hitter had 13 kills and made a match-high 15 digs in the Buffanblu's loss to Iolani in the state finals.

• PUNA RICHARDSON, Punahou volleyball — Junior middle blocker had a match-high eight blocks in a state championship loss to Iolani and 10 kills and four blocks to help the Buffanblu defeat Hilo in the semifinals.

• MARK RUIZ, Waimea football — Senior defensive lineman made nine tackles (six solo), was in on three sacks and recovered two fumbles in the Menehune's state quarterfinal victory over Castle.
