Arrest made in Waipahu shooting

Police arrested a 25-year-old man today wanted for questioning in a fatal Waipahu shooting on Sunday.

Ryan Naleimaile was arrested for alleged warrant and weapons offenses just after midnight in Waikiki, police said. Crime Reduction Unit officers from Waikiki and Pearl City and Criminal Investigation Division gang detail officers assisted in the arrest. Police sought Naleimaile in connection with the shooting of Shane Takeuchi, who was shot at about 8:45 p.m. on Lumihoahu Street.

Police asked anyone with further information about the case to contact Detective Ted Coons at 529-3053.
