Comedian Margaret Cho, right, brings her "Notorious C.H.O." tour to three islands:

"A Cazimero Christmas," featuring Island favorites Robert and Roland Cazimero, right, will offer Hawaiian and traditional holiday melodies at the Hawai'i Theatre. CONCERT: Dec. 15

CoCo Lee, a musical star in Asia with a dozen albums and the voice on the Oscar-nominated song "A Love Before Time" from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," gives a concert at the Waikiki Shell. Lee, who was born in Hong Kong and raised in San Francisco, fuses R&B and Taiwan pop sounds; her U.S. debut release is titled "Just No Other Way." 7 p.m. Dec. 15. $20 general, $40 and $60 reserved seats; discounts available until Nov. 30. DANCE: Nov. 30

Bayanihan, the National Folk Dance Company of the Philippines, which is touring the United States, will give its finale concert at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. The troupe has packed houses in San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, Malibu, Phoenix and Tucson; other destinations will include Ohio, New York, Washington, D.C., and Florida. 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30. $30 balcony seats, $40 orchestra ($5 discounts for seniors 65 and older and children 4-12); available at the box office. 591-2211, 526-4400.

Grammy-winning reggae/pop star Shaggy, whose "It Wasn't Me" blockbuster single got its launch by Hawai'i radio stations, offers "The Mahalo Concert" at Pipeline Cafe. CONCERT: Dec. 1

The Ying Quartet, right, winner of the Naumburg Chamber Music Award and one of America's most highly regarded ensembles, returns for a concert at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa's Orvis Auditorium. The siblings last performed in Honolulu in November 1998. 8 p.m. Dec. 1. $24 general, $15 students; available at the Campus Center ticket office. CITY LIGHTS: Dec. 1-Jan. 1

There's no better way to get into the holiday spirit than to tour the annual Honolulu City Lights display, which encircles much of the downtown Capitol District. It all begins Dec. 1 at Honolulu Hale (City Hall) with children's entertainment from 4 p.m. on the municipal lawn; opening-night ceremony at 6 p.m.; Electric Light Parade, 6:25 p.m. in front of Honolulu Hale; Christmas tree lighting, 6:30 p.m.; concert, 7:30 p.m.; and the arrival of Santa, 7:30 p.m. Indoor Christmas tree and wreath exhibits in the Honolulu Hale courtyard will be open daily 8 a.m.-11 p.m. (closed New Year's Eve). CONCERTS: Dec. 7-9, 11

Singer-guitarist Leo Kottke will make a four-concert, three-island tour in December, culminating with a performance Dec. 11 at the Hawai'i Theatre. A Windham Hill artist, Kottke now is a regular guest on Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show.

LOCAL FAVORITE: Candlelight Christmas

The Mission Houses Museum hosts an old-fashioned holiday with Christmas carols, music and refreshments, all by the glow of candlelight. 6-9:30 p.m. Dec. 8, 15. Tickets are $10 general, $9 students, $7/$6 for members, free for kids 5 years old and younger. 531-0481, ext. 16.

STAGE: Dec. 19-30

"Slava's Snowshow," featuring the Russian clown Slava Polunin and "snow," has a 14-show run at the Hawai'i Theatre. Opening night — 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19, $25 all seats — is a benefit for Hawaii Foodbank. The rest of the schedule:

Jack Johnson, athlete/musician/filmmaker whose debut compact disc is titled "Brushfire Fairytales," performs at World Cafe. He will also screen his surfing film, "The September Sessions."
