• NICK TINEBRA, chief financial officer at Honolulu Publishing Co. Ltd. since 1992, has been named chief executive officer. JIM MYERS, Honolulu Publishing's vice president and group publisher, with the company since 1979, is the new president. Chairman David Pellegrin said Myers will be responsible for all publishing operations and Tinebra for all corporate administration. Pellegrin, company chairman and president since 1980, will remain as chairman.

Also at Honolulu Publishing: WINONA HIGASHI, publisher of the O'ahu and Maui Drive Guides, has been named vice president and Drive Guide group publisher.

Pellegrin said that with the recent sale of Honolulu and Island Business magazines, the company will be looking at expansion in the visitor-industry market, either through acquisition or startup. The company also publishes Aloha Airlines' Spirit of Aloha in-flight magazine and the car-rental Drive Guides for five islands.

• RAYMOND L. SMITH has joined Matson Navigation Co. inc. as chief operating office in San francisco, responsible for all marketing and operations as well as safety, quality and environmental affairs. Smith is past chief executive officer of Fritz Companies, United States Fleet Leasing and, most recently, the high-tech startup company Ampent.

• Ten Hawai'i executives were elected to new three-year terms on the Hawai'i Employers Council board of governors at the organization's 58th annual meeting. Newly elected board members are DOROTHY PUNG, of HFS Federal Credit Union; PATRICK S. SAKA, Maui Publishing Co. (doing business as The Maui News and Hawai'i Publications Inc.), and EDWARD S. VAN LIER RIBBINK, Hawai'i Medical Service Association. The seven re-elected members are ROGER DRUE, of Kapi'olani Health; ERIC S. FUKUNAGA, Servco Pacific Inc.; YURI GIGA, Halekulani Corp.; SIGNE A. GODFREY, Olsten Staffing Services; BARRY W. MARR, Marr Hipp Jones & Pepper; JOICHI SAITO, Central Pacific Bank; and DAVID W. PATTON, Wilcox Health System and Wilcox Memorial Hospital.

• Three veteran employees within the SERVCO PACIFIC INC. family of companies have been promoted: THOR TOMA, former vice president and director of marketing for Servco Automotive, was promoted to vice president and director of service for Servco Automotive; LANCE ICHIMURA, former vice president of Hawai'i sales operations for Servco appliance and electronics distribution, was promoted to vice president and director of marketing for Servco Automotive; and LORI MIYASHIRO, previously Servco's special projects manager for the corporate division, was promoted to vice president of Hawai'i sales operations for Servco Appliance and Electronics Distribution.

• Kuakini Health System has named Patrice Nelligan its new manager of rehabilitation services, with oversight of the physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech language therapy programs. She is most recently rehabilitation admissions coordinator at Daniel Freeman Hospitals, Los Angeles.
