Also a state inspector retired from the Department of Transportation and an auctioneer for wholesale fish at the former Suisan Company Ltd. A Hawaiian culture lecturer and consultant for the Archives of Natural Land Sites. Survived by wife, Florence; daughter, Samie; sons, M. Puakea Nogelmeier and Maunaloa Kumukahi; brother, Clement "Sonny" Kuanoni; sisters, Kalei DeSilva, Catherine Akea and Hannah Kaupiko.
