UH-Hilo's Prather honored

University of Hawai'i-Hilo point guard Scott Prather has been named the Pacific West Conference basketball Player of the Week for the second week in a row for his play in the Big Island Invitational Tournament in Hilo last weekend.
Prather, a senior from Kula, Maui, had 65 points, 14 assists, nine rebounds and seven steals in three games against Division I schools in the tournament.
Prather was the tournament's leading scorer, averaging 21.7 points per game.
GOLF
Amateurs win: Continuous downpours yesterday forced the cancelation of the final round of the 28th Gov. John A. Burns Challenge Cup at the Mid-Pacific Country Club.
The amateurs, who led the professionals 7-5 at the end of Monday's two match-play rounds, were declared the winners by that score.
The professionals lead the amateurs in this event by a 19-9-1 score.
ICE HOCKEY
Military on ice: Navy will try to make it a three-peat when it plays Army tomorrow night at 7 in the third annual Army-Navy Ice Hockey Challenge at Ice Palace.
Admission is $5 per person or $15 for a family of four. Tickets are available at Ice Palace.
Proceeds will benefit the Hawaiian Youth Hockey Association.
