Mass Appeal Enterprise, known until now as a promoter of Hawai'i music shows for youthful audiences, is moving into a wider arena, showcasing fashion, electronics, sporting goods and music at the go! Teen Expo, today through Sunday at the Hawai'i Convention Center.

"Everything that a teen would want and need" is on hand, said Duane Oyama, Mass Appeal president.

It's one-stop shopping for trendy wares from more than 100 vendors, including clothing from Blue Planet Surf Gear and Black Flys, sporting goods and PlayStation games such as Dance Dance Revolution and Metal Gear Solid 2.

Vendors include Solid Surf Hawai'i, ML Sportswear, Royal Hawaiian Seat Covers, Sharotte Boutique, Imagine Wireless, Toy Concepts and Revolution Motor Sports.

"We're trying to encourage kids to come down and go shopping, you know, help the economy out here," Oyama said.

While the expo is geared toward teens, Oyama said, the event is open to all ages, especially parents in need of Christmas gift ideas.

Products aside, the expo will also be packed with activities, including bungee jumping, street dance competitions,

Heeley Shoes ramp demos, an 'ukulele challenge, and a battle of high school bands. Makeovers and fashion shows, too.

"You walk in and it will be like a carnival: non-stop activities going on," Oyama said.

Expo-goers can also enjoy live entertainment including Namahana, 12:15 p.m. Saturday; Marty Dread, 7:30 p.m. Saturday; Forte and DisGuyz, noon Sunday; and Da Braddahs, 3:15 p.m. Sunday.
