DIANE YOUNG GALUS, 57, pioneer and role model for the disabled, died Nov. 18, 2001. Blind from birth, she was a youth leader with the March of Dimes, earned degrees from three colleges, and was employed as a computer programmer until poor health prompted her return to the Islands. Here she was on the advisory boards of Ho'opono Center for the Blind, the Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped and the March of Dimes, and also supported activities of the Honolulu Symphony, Hawaii Opera Theatre and MENSA. Survived by father, William; sisters, Virginia and Pamela; nephew, Paulo. Private service held.
