• The University of Hawai'i School of Travel Industry Management will honor former Kahala Hilton general manager and Hawai'i Hotel Association president ROBERT H. BURNS at its annual fund-raiser and silent auction, "Celebrate a Legacy in Tourism," planned for Nov. 14, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel's Monarch Room. • The Pacific Telecommunications Council and the University of Hawai'i School of Travel Industry Management will present an international conference and exhibition at the Ala Moana Hotel today and tomorrow, showcasing software developments that are revolutionizing the way the travel industry is doing business on the World Wide Web. The event, "Hospitality Travels Toward New Technology," will feature two local companies: Get2Hawai'i Inc., an affiliate of Panda Group and one of the nation's largest travel wholesalers specializing in the Hawai'i market; and Viata Online Inc., a Hawai'i-based application service provider for the travel industry.
