"Equus," the Tony Award-winning drama by Peter Shaffer, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Yellow Brick Studio, 625 Keawe St. The Actors' Group TAG is producing the play, a powerful drama about a young stable boy who blinds six horses and a psychiatrist who tries to find out why.
Brad Powell is directing the show, which is recommended for mature audiences because of the adult nature of the theme and a nude scene.
The cast will feature Eric Nemoto as Martin Dysart, the psychiatrist; Noah Johnson, the young Alan Strang; Hayden de M. Yates, the father Frank Strang; Frances Enos, the mother Dora Strang; Dorothy Stamp, the magistrate Hester Salomon; Devon Leigh, the girl Jill Mason; Peter Bunn, the stable owner Harry Dalton; Todd Middleton, the young horseman; Kathleen Anderson, the nurse; and John Tolentino, who plays the horses.
TAG's acting space is intimate with limited seating, so advance reservations are suggested.
The play repeats at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays, through Nov. 11.
Tickets: $10.
Reservations: 591-7999.
