Movie Openings

"Big Eden": The story of a man (Arye Gross) Who returns to his childhood home and must come to terms with his relationship with his former best friend and his lost love. Opens tomorrow at Restaurant Row Theatres.

"Joy Ride": Spotting an opportunity for romance, Lewis (Paul Walker) agrees to drive Venna (Leelee Sobieski) across the country. But before Lewis can say "road trip from hell," his off-kilter older brother, Fuller (Steve Zahn), plays a CB-radio prank that angers a trucker with a psychotic killing streak. "Max Keeble's Big Move": When seventh-grader Max Keeble is labeled a "dorky nerd" on his first day of school and then learns his dad has taken a job and will move the family to Chicago, the 12-year-old is inspired to tell off the school bully and do other things he wouldn't have dreamed of doing if he had to suffer the consequences. But when his father's new job falls through, the boy must face the music when he finds himself back among his old classmates. "Training Day": "Training Day" couldn't be more appropriately titled. The movie will track all the events that go into the first day of a rookie cop in the Los Angeles Police Department's undercover narcotics unit. Denzel Washington will play Alonzo, a corrupt veteran cop and partner of the rookie. SNEAK PREVIEW: "Bandits": Billy Bob Thornton and Bruce Willis play two bank robbers who both fall for the same woman (Cate Blanchett), who they may or may not have kidnapped during a heist. The film is said to be in same vein as Butch Cassiday and the Sundance Kid. Saturday 7 p.m. Ward Stadium 16-Plex, 7:05 p.m. Pearl Highlands 12 and Windward Stadium 10, 8:10 p.m. Mililani 14-Plex.
