Alt-rockers Tool play UH Nov. 10

Advertiser Staff

Tickets go on sale today for Tool, whose alt-rock metal sounds will shake the University of Hawai'i's Andrews Outdoor Theatre in a Nov. 10 concert.

Tool's latest release is the 2001 "Lateralus," five years in the making and waiting, which Rolling Stone magazine granted four stars (out of five).

A favorite of fans of music on the darker side, Tool was to headline 1995's Big Mele festival at Kualoa Ranch but dropped out on the day of the show because of a medical emergency.

The all-ages show begins at 7:30 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $37.50, available at Tower Records (Kahala and Pearl Kai), Tower Video (Kapi'olani), Cheapo Music (Puck's Alley, Pearl Kai), Hungry Ear Kailua, Pearl Harbor Block Arena, ITT Kane'ohe MCBH, Schofield ITR, UH-Manoa Campus Center and Ticket Plus outlets. 526-4400 (Ticket Plus charges), 947-3633 (Goldenvoice), goldenvoice.com.

No bottles, cans, alcoholic beverages, lawn chairs or coolers will be allowed.
