Two benefits to help family of Puna girl

PAHOA, Hawai'i — Puna residents are organizing a benefit concert for the family of murder victim Kau'ilani Tadeo, 6, whose body was found Sept. 27 near her Hawaiian Beaches home. A 14-year-old neighbor has been charged with sexually assaulting and murdering the girl.

The concert will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Aloha Center near Pahoa village. It is being organized by Ku'ulei Snyder, with entertainment by Bruddah Kuz and others.

A second benefit will be held from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. The "Celebration of Life Concert" is being coordinated by Pua Tokumoto, director of PuaTahiti Productions. Tickets, which include a bento dinner, are $15 for adults and $10 for children under age 12.
