Wahine win 44th WAC match in row

The University of Hawai'i Wahine volleyball team completed its first road trip by routing Tulsa, 30-19, 30-9, 30-22, in a Western Athletic Conference match last night at Tulsa, Okla.
The match was played before 203 at Reynolds Center, and lasted 1 hour and 20 minutes.
The No. 13 Wahine won all four of their road matches without dropping a game.
"The road trip was long, but our team really focused well and actually played four good matches," UH coach Dave Shoji said.
Kim Willoughby led Hawai'i with 26 kills and a .649 hitting percentage, and Maja Gustin had 12 kills and hit .632. Lauren Duggins added eight kills in 11 attempts and had a match-high five block assists.
Defensive specialist Hedder Ilustre had 11 of the Wahine's 48 digs.
Margaret Vakasausau had 36 assists for Hawai'i, and Jennifer Carey added 11.
Hawai'i (10-4 overall, 3-0 WAC) outhit Tulsa (4-7, 1-4), .505-to-.143.
"We played very well again, came very much on, hit for a great percentage, played a really good all-around game and we looked like a much-improved team," Shoji said.
The Wahine had no hitting errors in the first game and only one in the second. In the second game, Hawai'i held an opponent to single digits for the first time since the rally-scoring system was implemented this season.
Kristin Bailey and Ashley Frogge had 10 kills apiece to lead the Golden Hurricane.
The Wahine have won 44 consecutive WAC matches.
Hawai'i will play host to Texas-El Paso on Friday and Southern Methodist on Sunday.
"We are looking forward to coming home and getting back in the practice gym," said Shoji, who picked up his 751st career win.
SMALL COLLEGE
Chaminade wins: Audrey Brady had 16 kills and 11 digs, and Valasi Sepulona added 13 kills and 11 digs as Chaminade defeated Brigham Young-Hawaii, 30-16, 22-30, 19-30, 30-24, 15-8, in a Pacific West Conference match last night at the Cannon Activities Center.
Chaminade improved to 6-7 overall and 3-2 in the PacWest. BYUH dropped to 7-5, 3-4.
