RICHARD "DICK" "MAJOR" MURRAY BOTTS, 83, of Kailua, Kona, Hawai'i, died Oct 1, 2001. Born in Honolulu. A retired stock broker, lecturer, author, photographer and filmmaker. Survived by son, Andrew; daughters, Jeanne Herbert, Sybil Orr and Claudia Janiszewski; sister, Mary Marx; three grandchildren. Departure 4:15 p.m. Monday from the slip of the catamaran Kamanu at Honokohau Harbor for service and scattering of ashes. No lei; loose flowers only. Aloha attire.
