Solipsys sponsors Kaua'i scholarship
The Solipsys Corp. has launched its annual scholarship competition for Kaua'i students.
Through Nov. 2, elementary and high school students on Kaua'i can enter the competition by weighing in on the ways technology can improve the state.
Students from first through 12th grades are eligible to compete. First- through third-graders may submit a poster; fourth- through ninth-graders may submit a 350-word essay; and 10th- through 12-graders may submit a 500-word essay. The winner in each category will receive a $500 scholarship.
Students are encouraged to register in advance.

LANA'I
Fisherman found dead, wife missing
An elderly man is dead and his wife is missing after the two went spear-fishing off Lana'i.
Fishermen found the man's body yesterday morning, floating in the water a half mile off an area known as Donato Trail, according to Maui County police.
The man was 71 years old. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.
The man's wife, who is in her 60s, was believed to have been with him on Thursday, when he was first reported missing.
Firefighters and the Coast Guard searched for the couple yesterday. The fire department is expected to continue the search today.
