By Zenaida Serrano Espanol

In an effort to give people alternatives for expressing themselves without violence, YWCA of O'ahu will present the YWCA Week Without Violence, today through Saturday.

Highlights include a free children's art exhibit that depicts how peace and violence make kids feel, 6 a.m.-9 p.m. today through Friday and 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday at Laniakea YWCA; and a candlelight vigil to remember those who have been victims of violence, 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at Kawaiaha'o Church.

Each day will carry a theme: Sunday, "A Day of Remembrance"; Monday, "Protecting Our Children and Making Our Schools Safer"; Tuesday, "Replacing Violence with Sports, Recreation and Fun"; Wednesday, "Confronting Violence Against Women"; Thursday, "Facing Violence Among Men"; and Friday, "Let Our Remembrance Lead Us to Peace."
