Board of Water Supply awards contracts

The Board of Water Supply has awarded nine construction contracts totaling more than $9 million for projects aimed at improving O'ahu's system.

The projects involve work in the following neighborhoods:

• In Hawai'i Kai, Site Engineering Inc., was awarded a $258,900 contract to repair and repaint the Kamiloiki 170-foot Reservoir at 7843 Hawai'i Kai Drive. Completion is expected in mid-February.

• In Mo'ili'ili, RMY Construction Inc. was awarded a $503,428 contract to install 8-inch water lines on Ka'aha, Ka'aloa, Nako'oko'o and Kahoaloha streets and on Kahuna Lane. Completion is expected by June.

• In Pu'unui, Grace Pacific Corporation was awarded a $413,518.75 contract to repair pavement involved with various main installation projects. The work will be done on Waolani, Rooke, and Pu'unui avenues, on Wyllie and Maui streets and on Kaua'i and Hawai'i streets. Completion is expected by the beginning of November.

• In Waimano, Beylik Drilling Inc. was awarded a $186,004 contract to drill and case a deep monitor well in the gulch off Komo Mai Drive in Pacific Palisades. Completion is expected by mid-March 2002.

• In Waiawa, Valley Well Drilling was awarded a $179,378.86 contract to drill and case a deep monitor well in the lower Waiawa area off of the H-2 Freeway. Completion is expected by mid-December.

• In Mililani, Beylik Drilling Inc. was awarded a $172,691 contract to replace the submersible motor and pump bowl assembly at the Mililani Wells I facility at 95-1045 Ahikao Street. Completion is expected by the beginning of January 2002.

• In Waipahu, Inter-Island Construction Inc. was awarded a $5,144,588 contract to install carbon contactor tanks and related equipment at the Hoaeae Wells station, 99-432 Ho'ae'ae Street. Completion is expected by late January 2003.

• In Sunset Beach, M&M Tanks Inc. was awarded a $601,836 contract to move an existing water meter to Kamehameha Highway and install a 3-inch main and booster station along Comsat Access Road. Completion is expected by mid-October 2002.

• Also, M&M Tanks was awarded a $2,058,564.75 contract to upgrade the 12-inch main to a 16-inch main along Kamehameha Highway from Paumalu Place to Kahae Road to increase water pressure.

Completion is expected by November 2002.
