Advertiser Staff

In Hawai'i, 78 high school seniors qualified as National Merit Scholarship semifinalists this year.

These semifinalists are among the 16,000 nationwide that now can compete for 8,000 Merit Scholarship awards worth more than $32 million. To qualify as semifinalists, high school students take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in the fall of their junior year.
