Children invited to 'rodeo'

By Esme Infante Nii
Advertiser Assistant Features Editor

Riding a bicycle safely should be, at least in theory, its own reward, but sometimes children need some extra incentive.

So Shriner's Hospital and State Farm Insurance are teaming up to sponsor a free "bicycle safety rodeo" Saturday at the hospital grounds for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Those who finish a safe-riding course (open 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and view a safety video receive a certificate and a goodie bag, and become eligible to enter a drawing for a new bike or helmet. Parents should bring their children's own bikes and helmets to the rodeo; a limited supply will be available for loan. Free parking available at Central Union Church. Call 523-1178 for information.
