Warriors' Jackson injured in accident

Advertiser Staff

JACKSON
University of Hawai'i football player Nate Jackson suffered abrasions on his left shin yesterday when the motorcycle he was riding skidded into a car on University Avenue. He was treated at the Queen's Medical Center and released.

UH assistant coach Rich Miano said Jackson did not suffer any fractures. "He had serious abrasions," Miano said, "but we're happy he's doing all right." Miano said he did not know if Jackson will be able to play in Friday afternoon's game against 18th-ranked Fresno State.

Miano said a car stopped abruptly in front of Jackson, forcing his motorcycle to swerve into another car.

"He looked more bummed than hurt," said teammate Jacob Espiau, who arrived shortly after the accident.
