Business school helps jobless

Hawaii Business College is offering a 20 percent tuition discount to people affected by layoffs since Sept. 11.

The discount is available to first-time students who enroll for the winter quarter, which begins Nov. 26. Applicants must provide a notice of termination or an unemployment eligibility letter to verify that the layoff occurred on or after Sept. 11.

The college is offering free Saturday seminars — this weekend, Nov. 3, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 — with information on career placement assistance. For details, call the admissions department at 524-4014 or go online to admin@hbc.edu.
