Cycling event to benefit diabetes set for Nov. 11

A cycling competition to raise money for the American Diabetes Association Hawai'i will be Nov. 11 at Kaka'ako Waterfront Park at 7 a.m.

There are four distances (nine, 20, 28 and 33 miles) for all levels, groups and individuals.

The registration fees, which include a tank top, refreshments and entry into prize drawings, are $35 for individuals and $15 for children 12-under. For families or teams of three or more, the cost is $25 per adult and $10 per child.

For the team competition, the cost is $25 per person for teams of 3-7 riders; $20 per person for teams of 8-12; and $15 for teams of 13 or more people.

RUNNING

• Nolasco run changed: The Val Nolasco Half-Marathon, originally set for Nov. 11, has been rescheduled to Nov. 4.

The event, a fifth in a series of runs sponsored by the Mid-Pacific Road Runners Club in preparation for the Dec. 9 Honolulu Marathon, will start at 5:30 a.m. at Kapi'olani Park.
