Fair may help those needing aid

By Zenaida Serrano Espanol

In response to the economic slump since the Sept. 11 attacks, the Kalihi-Palama Community Council will sponsor a free Awareness Fair, 5-8:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Susannah Wesley Community Center, for individuals and families who may require financial, housing, medical and mental health assistance in the coming months.

"The purpose of the event is to assist our neighbors to coming back to normal again," said event coordinator Irene Fujimoto, "or at least assisting these people to go on with their lives."

The event will include a bento dinner followed by a resource fair and informational workshops by nearly two dozen agencies and organizations.
