Man shot at Mo'ili'ili 7-Eleven

A shooting outside a Mo'ili'ili 7-Eleven early today sent a 29-year-old Beretania Street man to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his head. The gunman remained at large.

The injured man was in serious condition at the Queen's Medical Center this morning with a wound to his right temple, police said. The bullet "grazed" the victim, police said.

According to police, the shooting occurred at the gasoline pumps outside 7-Eleven, 2646 South King Street, at 2:34 a.m. The 29-year-old man was sitting in his car when he got into an argument with the gunman, who was an acquaintance, police said.

Police said the gunman approached the driver's open door and shot the man in the head with a small-caliber handgun.

After the gunman fled in a car, the injured man walked into the 7-Eleven and told employees he had been shot. The employees called police and an ambulance.

Police believe the gunman lives in the Diamond Head area and was driving his father's car. Police said they were still attempting to uncover the motive for the shooting.
