Two O'ahu Interscholastic Association White Conference receivers hauled in their share of league records this football season.

Moanalua senior Jimmy Strombach broke single-season records for receiving yards and touchdown receptions. His 1,003 yards broke the previous high of 848 set by McKinley's Rene Melson in 1999.

Strombach also had four touchdown catches in a win against Kalani Friday to bring his single-season record to 14. He and Kahuku's Ferron Fonoimoana entered the week sharing the record set by Farrington's Kurtis Hetrick in 1991. On Thursday, 'Aiea's Reuben Medeiros caught two TD passes to join them, but that lasted less than 24 hours.

Also, Kaiser's Marc Esteban broke his own record for single-season receptions with 55. Last year, he set the record with 54. He also had 13 receptions against Roosevelt to break the single-game record of 11 previously held by Kalaheo's Kimo Lee in 1978 and 'Aiea's Vincent Johnson in 1994.

'Aiea quarterback Lole Laolagi broke a year-old record for single-season touchdown passes with 31. Last year, Kaiser's Brad Bernard threw 27.

In the Red, Kailua running back Brenton Harbottle won the rushing title with 794 yards. Castle quarterback Joel Botelho claimed the passing crown with 1,743 yards and 109 completions, but Kahuku quarterback Inoke Funaki led the Red with 20 touchdown passes and 11.5 yards per pass attempt.

Botelho was a double threat for the Knights. His 579 rushing yards was third-best in the Red.

The versatile Fonoimoana, a receiver and return specialist, led the Red in scoring with 80 points on 13 touchdowns and one 2-point conversion. He also led the conference in receiving yards with 538 and 10 TD receptions.

In the White, Radford back Justin Rellin led with 701 yards rushing.

'Aiea's Laolagi led the conference with 2,172 yards passing, 45 yards shy of the single-season mark set by Bernard last year.

Strombach just missed on getting a third record when he finished the season with 54 catches, one shy of Kaiser's Esteban. Strombach's 14 TDs for 84 points led the White.
