Niketown 5K run entries sought

Kids and parents who participate in the second annual Niketown 5K run will be helping O'ahu schools. All proceeds will be donated to support school athletic programs and buy play equipment.

The event starts at 7 a.m. Oct. 7 at the Niketown Honolulu store in Waikiki. An optional, one-mile Kids Run for children 12 and under will be held at the Fort DeRussy Park, also starting at 7 a.m. Parents are also invited to join their children in that run.

Entry fee is $15 for people 13 and older, and $10 for children 12 years and younger, and includes a race t-shirt. For information or entry forms, call 943-6453 or visit the Niketown store at the King Kalakaua Plaza in Waikiki. Entry fees can be paid at the store or through the mail, postmarked by Sept. 22.
