The first annual HAWAI'I TOURISM CONFERENCE is set for Sept. 17-19 at the Hawai'i Convention Center. The three-day meeting will focus on challenges and opportunities in a number of tourism related arenas including air transportation, community involvement, new technologies, product development and travel agent education. The international gathering will feature a variety of speakers, panel discussions, interactive displays, and the annual membership luncheon of the sponsoring Hawai'i Visitors and Convention Bureau. "Speak Out on Hawai'i's Technology Future: Action Planning Workshop(s) for the Private Sector," the ongoing series of 10 statewide forums to gather grassroots input on the future of the technology industry, continues 1:30 to 5 p.m. today at Restaurant Row, Building 5, room 210.
